bottega louie macarons

What’s not to love about these amazing little macarons from Bottega Louie? These little jewel toned gems are as delicious to eat as they are to look at. The perfect little crunchy exterior gives way to the pillowy soft macaron shell with an explosion of flavor in the center. They even come in a beautiful little box!
My adorable friends, Brien and Taylor, bought these for me. After my first bite, I immediately “added to cart” several books on how to make macarons, much to the unpleasant surprise of my Sunshine. It’s not so much the “adding” as it is the “purchasing” that gets to Sunshine. But eventually he is happy, because the payoff is always something delicious. Isn’t that right, Sunshine?
My favorite book is Macarons by Pierre Hermé. It gives step by step instructions with photographs on how to make macarons which was essential for me. I did needed to convert some measurements as this was written for a European audience.
The flavor combinations are endless, which makes these very appealing for me. I can’t wait to come up with new combinations! The flavors shown and thoroughly enjoyed by Sunshine and myself are:
Pistachio – Sicilian pistachios and white chocolate ganache. Amazing.
Raspberry – Raspberry ganache and raspberry jam. Spectacular.
Violet Cassis – Violet buttercream and cassis ganache. Love it.
Chocolate Orange – dark chocolate and orange infused ganache. Glorious.
Earl Grey – Earl grey infused milk chocolate ganache. Oh yeah, this is my favorite.
The earl grey macaron has little specs of gold leaf on it. They are so damn cute!
Thank you, Brien and Taylor! You created a monster. I’m totally obsessed with these little gems.
